70-75 days. Atomic Red is an open-pollinated variety with 8" - 10" long imperator type roots that are crisp and sweet. When you steam, roast, or stir-fry them, the contrast between the brilliant, deep red outer layer and orange core intensifies. Grow successive crops to ensure continuous harvests as this colorful carrot is sure to be in high demand once it is seen and tasted.
This packet sows three 10-foot rows.

When to sow outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks before average last frost. Successive sowings: every 3 weeks until 60 days before first fall frost. In climates with lows above 25°F, grow all winter.
When to start inside: Not recommended.
Harvesting: For best flavor and texture, harvest Atomic Red carrots at their optimal size of 8"-10" long and 1"-1 1/2" in diameter. Peak harvest period lasts about 3 weeks. Late summer sown carrots are sweetened after having been kissed by light frost, but please harvest before soil freezes, which would destroy the crop. If you live in a climate that doesn't fall below 20°F, leave carrots in the ground for storage provided they are heavily mulched, and harvest as needed.
